Flash based and HDD camcorders were probably the worst type of camera. Anything that you can not remove the memory from can mean total loss if the unit fails, or if you lose the power supply.

IVE GOT A QUESTION FOR ABOUT A CASSETTE PLAYER … Where is the speed adjustment on Pioneer double auto reverse cassette player???? Thanks. Kenny from South Carolina.
What if my camcorder screen is white
YOU ARE THE MAN! Dirty light tube was exactly the problem.
Recently I started kinda copying your servicing workflow. I no longer disassemble things to more extent than needed. In the past I would remove almost all the gears from the machine, try to lubricate them and put everything back together. Nowadays I value my time more, this works just as well. In the end nothing must stick, that is all that really matters.
I have a tascam da 30 MK 2 that needs repair… how do I submit it to you for repair?
Thank you. Do you now, kenwood sw305 bass on,but no sound-do you now where is the problem? Thanks
Back in the day they were building servisable electronics, this days these moter f... are making them single use...
They only used to be serviceable because governments forced manufactures to make products repairable and stock parts. People pressured governments to deregulate which they did. Now they only have to replace anything that breaks in warranty period. This resulted in lower costs because stocking replacement parts for 10 years costs a ton of money.
I was told the queuing lever on my 1500 Mark II is sealed and not fixable. Is that true? If it is fixable is it expensive? Thank you.
He's just one of yhem kind of ppl. Want everything for nothing
I need to order a belt for mine to try to do- what is the belt call? How do i know what size?
You need to measure. Ties string around it tight. Cut the string and measure. Subtract 10% from that size.
Ohhhhh buddy. I'ma about to make a lot of money. I have found about 7 TVs just this month. 5 worked and 2 were smart TVs with the backlight not functioning. Sold the 5 other tvs for cheap because they weren't smart TVs. 1 70" smart TV and a 40" smart tv both with back light out are about to get died and sold for 150$-250$ minimum on FB market place and/or offer up. This video helped me out a lot!!
I've given up on tvs.
Great good job👍🙂
Very cool
Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. I plan to take that camera out and actually record something with it and give it a good evaluation.
It’s not just the low end ones,I have a Hvr-a1e which was expensive at the time and that’s throwing up those codes
They all do it.
@@12voltvids Yes I can imagine,Not as if Sony gear is cheap,I’ve got a lot of Sony gear I’ve collected over the years including a pair of Dev-5 recording binoculars,I bet there hard to work on.
The big problem with these connectors is that pesky element known as oxygen. It alone if responsible for so many problems in electronics and just material in general. Get rid of oxygen and things would last forever. Problem is nobody would be around to use them. 😗
@@12voltvids Interesting to know,thanks
I've had my SL P 420A for around 35 yrs & its never missed a beat. I think that was the period when audio gear had quality.
So the grease used on VCR's mechanism is called White Lithium Grease (26:16). I didn't know that. Back then in the late 1980s as an amateur without much knowledge about troubleshooting when I noticed that the grease of the motor's worm gear of the Betamax loading mechanism appeared dried up with almost nothing left I applied some automotive grease and the result was disastrous because it won't eject anymore. The viscosity was too thick for the motor's torque.
Yes white lithium grease.
Amazing video 🎉
i mean, your not giving me a lot of confidence just trying to force that coax in like one of those square peg round hole people
Do I look like a give a shit. I wasn't forcing it. There was a piece of wire broken off inside. I didn't break it and I didn't fix it because he doesn't use the radio anyway. Just aux and phono input.

@@jarstorethe reason I don't have high blood pressure is because I don't give a fuck.
So i just need a to connect wires after the preamp to rca jacks, or i have to disconnect something first? And the jacks get grounded to the chasis? (Probably skip the jacks and have a cable coming out. Grounded to the chasis I assume.) Correct?
Very good video, help me to fix mine, Thank you!
Can u help me diagnose my vcr ?
Probably not
Boring?? Not at all Sir, we are benefiting tremendously from your systematic service procedures, Great stuff.😊

Mr. Volts ⚡️The birds 🐦 churping away in the background, made for a soothing tutorial. Thks.😊
What size belt?
The one that fits.
I'm sure they can do a lot of damage dropping things. You wouldn't want them to drop a laser printer, either. The mirrors might shift in the Laser/Scanner module. Then your printer will print a giant streak down the page.
Trucking companies just don't care. They guarantee to get it from point A to B but that's it.
You have to plug in the charger or not?
Its not going to do much of you don't plug it in.
If you didn't fix the original battery pack it's no longer vintage.
Like I care. Its not like its going to be used other than for a few test shoots. I don't have a charger for the original pack and am not about to buy one. I just wanted a way to power it up without carrying around an external battery.
I agree the idea is to play with vintage kit not worry about original shelf queens. I use vmount for my camera’s as I have a universal mount and a couple of good batteries with charger . I also have a lithium car starter which is also good for camera play
Do you HAVE to soder? I’d think electrical tape would be fine to hold the two wires together. There’s no current is there?
You don't have to but it makes a better mechanical connection
@@12voltvids thanks for the clarification!
The fan you disassembled completely (Cruiser Pro T1/T2) does NOT have the same components as the Pilot Max S. Most importantly, the Pilot Max S has a brushless motor.
They both have brushless motors. 3 wires is 3 windings. 3 phase brushless motor.
Just picked one of these up at goodwill for $8. It turns on, but after putting a disc in the tray, once the disc is in there the display just stays at 0:00 and pressing play does nothing. I’m hoping I can figure out how to repair
i had one of these Akai machines many years ago, it did strip some of my expensive Ampex tapes, the sound quality wasn't very good, not as good as a Nakamichi Dragon cassette recorder i had at the time, i eventually sold everything and used a computer for recording and editing on using Audacity, made some great recordings but wasn't as much fun or frustrating as these tape machines!
Deoxit is certainly the magic fluid to repair everything - clocks, electrics, everything you name it, liquid gold!
Mr. Volts ⚡️you had Arrangement, Concept, seamless BPM's, and flowing delivery. Not easy "mixing" slow music Dj, style. Well executed Sir. Dj Master J. Retired.😊
26:52 - I pretend my email doesn't exist, often for weeks. I avoid social media (facebook, instagram, twix etc.), and I don't even have a phone (but I probably should) for an undisclosed reason. That doesn't mean I hate technology, else I would not watch this channel.
Better watch out. When the court orders you not to access phones and computers that include UA-cam on your smart TV lol.

Extra parts.
Mike, I am curious why you don’t prove your suspicion of a bad chip by killing the power, set your meter for resistance, and go “ pin-to-pin” looking for a resistance considerably less than 600 ohms. I touch pins 1 and 2 with a probe and pins 7 and 8 . Ten 3 and 4 to 6 and 5. So on till you get a low reading .
Its the chip. Give it power and it will oscillate
There was nowhere near enough packaging material around that machine. It also looked like there was extra room around it in the box. You never want extra space in a box it will rattle around in there and break stuff.
It was packed well on the sides. I had already removed it before I started rolling.
So, we finally have proof positive that YOU are the reason Zinc Oxide batteries leak when left in remote's for years on end....... and fuses blowing are your fault too. Good to know. It must a really SHIT amplifier design if it blows fuses due to reversed speaker wires. My 50 year old Kenwood amp still pumps out it's full 400w RMS and it doesn't care which speaker I connect to which output, and anything from 4 ohm to 40 ohm speakers work fine on it. You get what you pay for I guess. This looks a case of garbage in fancy clothes......
It’s really sad, how all these shippers treat each package! Unless you pack the item(s) to survive an Armageddon you can forget any hope of it arriving in perfect condition 🥲🥲 I used to work for a few manufacturers and we never had any problems, but we had access to the original factory boxes and packed them for ww 20 lol.
My machine is starting to give out error 02-reel trouble while rewinding with the nice bonus of having the tape fly off the tape path

Ah dam another Canadian complaining about the heat lol. Yes it gets pretty hot here. I have ac so it doesn't bother me.
What id i just screw up with my JVC vcr? i removed and cleaned the mode switch (using CRC 2-26 which does good job on scracthy pots), put the mode swith back with 2 arrows pointing to each other, installed the mechanism. Now when i insert a tape, it immidiately starts rolling the tape at 1,5x play speed and then shuts down. If i turn it on with tape inside, also it starts turning the tape immidiately and then shuts down
Well, now it suddenly starting working properly on its own
Ghost in the machine
